Come meet and interact with our diverse fiber animals! Experience the unique textures of various fibers, each with its own personality and distinctive fleece. A hands on experience
Join us for a hands-on experience in the art of fleece skirting! Dive into the world of fiber processing as we meticulously skirt freshly-shorn fleeces. Together, we’ll examine each fleece individually, carefully removing short fibers, vegetable matter, and any other impurities that diminish the fleece’s cleanliness. This interactive session not only teaches you the skill of skirting but also offers a deeper appreciation for the journey from fleece to fabric.

At our farm, we cherish the artful process of fiber processing. Though it may be tedious, it offers a tranquil retreat to slow down the hectic pace of modern life. It’s a practice that deepens our gratitude for the farm, where the soothing symphony of goats bleating, lambs conversing with their mothers, the creek’s gentle babble, and the roosters’ morning calls blend into a peaceful backdrop. The journey is long and demands much energy, but the reward is immeasurable: a beautiful, soft fleece, ready to be transformed in the next stages of textile creation.
Event Rules/suggestions:
-bring plenty of water to avoid dehydration, Some refreshments provided.
-wear something appropriate for the weather and something you don't mind getting dirty,
mud/rain boots suggested.
-be courteous to others
-listen to the farmers for direction
-Do NOT feed the animals unless instructed by farmers
-use hand sanitizer before and after interacting with the animals or fiber.
-wear masks if worried about fiber particle inhalation, it could present a health risk. masks will be available to you.
-keep the premises tidy and clean from trash.
-please treat the animals with respect and kindness, keep chaos and noise to a minimum.
-children must be monitored and within arms reach of their adult at all times.
-park in designated parking areas only
we have the right to ask anyone to leave the premises if they are being disruptive or unsafe.
